Thomas Linscott, Outdoor Recreation Planner for the State of Maine Department of Conservation, Bureau of Parks and Lands, Boating Facilities Division has announced that a major renovation of the Woodbury Pond Boat Ramp is planned for this autumn.

The State will remove and replace the aging concrete plank ramp, install a handicap accessible concrete abutment, parking space and float system. The parking areas and maneuvering area will be paved and parking places painted. New stone lined ditching and lever spreaders will be installed. Grading will be improved. It is expected that this work will significantly reduce the runoff issues that have plagued the area for many years.

A pad will also be installed for a handicapped accessible toilet.

The area of the site will not be expanded. The larger paved area and new ramp should make boat access safer and easier.

The work is planned to start on October 5, 2009. PLEASE NOTE THE BOAT RAMP WILL BE CLOSED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION. PLEASE PLAN TO REMOVE YOUR BOAT BEFORE THE WORK BEGINS.

A copy of the preliminary plans is available from the link below. PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE PLANS ARE PRELIMINARY AND NOT FOR BID. Changes may be made before bids are received.

Should you have any questions please address them to Mr. Linscott at 207-287-6830.
