Staying Connected: Our Biannual Newsletter

Summer 2026

Members and Friends,

What an amazing summer we have planned! Multiple events catering to all the different segments of our membership - from kids to seniors-there is something for everyone. See the list on the following page. The work goes on behind the scenes is really something to behold.

Your Board of Directors has been revitalized, and we are excited to welcome several new directors who will be voted on at the Annual Meeting on 6/27.

In 2026, TLA will spend approximately $16,000 on our Courtesy Boat Inspection program. The Woodbury boat launch is the second busiest in all of the lakes within the Cobbossee watershed. With invasive plant species in nearby Purgatory Stream, Pleasant Pond, Cobbossee Lake and Annabessacook Lake, the importance of the CBI program cannot be overstated. We staff inspectors every Thursday (half a day), Friday, Saturday adn Sunday for 12-hour days through Labor Day. But this leaves Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays uncovered all summer. We are seeking volunteers to assist us on those open days. Training takes just one hours and is offered locally. The next opportunity for training is 6/24 at 5:30pm in nearby Manchester. Reach out to us if you are interested in helping. Short shifts are welcomed, as ANY coverage is better than none.

As always, our members are our most important resources. Without your support NOTHING happens. While memberships increased last year, only about 50% of lake-front property owners have joined. You can help! Spread the word and encourage your neighbors to become members. Joining is easy, can be done online at tacomalakes.org, using both PayPal and Venmo and you can always print the membership form from the TLA website and mail it to us.

My door is ALWAYS open. Reach out anytime, via email at jfadams13@gmail.com or by phone 240-6539. I truly love talking to the members new and old.

Sincerely,

Jim Adams, President
